A free mobile App to discover the Sustainable Development Goals and promote sustainable actions and projects through picture & video sharing.
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is not still familiar with citizen, especially youth, but it is absolutely essential to get youth involved with the implementation process of the SDGs becausethe world is home to the largest generation of youth in history (1.2 billion aged 15-24 worldwide). Based on this recognition, the SGI and the ECI produced this app which will hopefully be a 'first encounter' with SDGs for youth. SDGs are hard to understand, but the app will make it easier.
We are bombarded with news, images, and videos about how things are going wrong, and we rarely hear of all the things going right. Let's show each other the positive things we're seeing, doing, and creating every day that are healing and transforming our communities.
Mapting is a great App because it brings a new and entertaining approach to discover and talk about the SDGs. It is about sharing everyday solutions; about saying that no matter the size of these solutions, they all make a difference and about showing there is hopefor the future. That, to me, is truly inspiring.

The story behind Mapting is one of a strong partnership between two organizations - Soka Gakkai International and Earth Charter International - and the core belief that one individual's action can make a difference. While the concept of the app, as it is today, was born in Costa Rica early 2016, the process that led to it started nearly 15 years ago with the coproduction of two worldwide exhibitions, "Seeds of Change" in 2002 and "Seeds of Hope" in 2012, highlighting ordinary individuals who took action to initiate change. This specific approach is what laid the foundations of Mapting, the rest was a lot of brainstorming sessions, countless e-mails, lots of coding and great team work.
